The Archive

What borked the site over the weekend was launching archive.differentlyrational.com and trying to get it to behave like I wanted. Now it’s operational, so here’s how it’s going to work.

  • There’s a link in the header menu for the archive.
  • This is going to be a very low-priority project. If I can get a post a week up, that’ll be doing well.
  • I’m not looking to save everything from the archive. The “here’s what’s coming” posts aren’t worth saving, The “a few of my favorite things” that was my first post is probably going to stay dead, with a reimagining of the concept likely to find its way here sooner or later.
  • Even the stuff that gets brought back isn’t necessarily going to be in the original form. I’m still not 100% sure what I’m going to do but I’ve got some ideas.
  • There will be stuff that never made it to the website. I’ve got a 113 KB file of reviews that I never collected a full week for to get posted, so I think I can find a way to get it all started.

Between the scope of the project, the low priority, and how much else I’m working on right now, I can imagine this will takes months, maybe even a year or two, to get done. I’ll probably say something here then.
